The aim of the project is to introduce non-formal and creative methods in the innovative and democratic schools in Poland (Sosnowiec, Katowice, Gliwice, Tychy, Łódź, Warszawa, Szczecin, Bielsko-Biała, Mikołow, Kraków). The project is also an unique opportunity to live in a foreign country and work for a social goal, to develop personal and professional skills.

The schools which are involved in the project are based on deep democracy and ecology, where each child is free to decide on his/her engagement. Through their activities, such as workshops, handicraft, Non-Violence Communication, they put great emphasis on community building, respect for cultural diversity, communicating one's needs in open and emphatic way, connection with nature. There is also the space to develop artistic talents.

So if you like working with children and in your free time you play ukulelele, paint or implement many other ideas, this project is waiting for you.

The volunteer can involve in different areas:

taking active part in a daily life of the school community

organization of active and creative activities with pupils in accordance with personal skills, interests and passions using non- formal methods

co-organization and participating in outdoor events support to the teachers and educators in taking care of the kids

creating own educational projects which are part of an volunteers’ learning process

organization and supporting school promotional projects in the local community

organization of non-formal educational activities in english and mother tongue of volunteer

Overview

Project length:From 10 to 12 months

Arrival Airport: Poland

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday /30-35 hours per week/

Requirements: Advanced in English

Age Limits: Between 18 and 30 yrs old.

Accommodation: shared apartments in the city of the project /Poland/

Meals: monthly food allowance /130 euro/

Travel: reimbursement of travel costs / home country- Poland and return/
Entry Visa

Monthly pocket money: 120 euro

Local transportation card /buses and trams/

Polish language course

YouthPass Certificate- a document which describes all new competences and skills gained during the project

///Who are we looking for?


18-30 years old residents of European and EU neighbouring countries who:

enjoy working with children and young people and doing creative activities with them

are motivated, eager to take initiatives, open minded, flexible

are empathic, able to show friendliness and comprehension to the children,

are socially active, eager to work for local community, communicative and ready to face challenges that international cooperation brings

motivated to teach a language and also to learn new languages

have artistic & creative skills (painting/drawing, dancing, singing, manual skills) or willing to learn new ones

want to get more self-confidence and leadership skills

want to learn how to become a educator/tutor and help others

speak English on min. B1 level

Description

Active Women Association is a non-governmental organization established in 2002 and located in Sosnowiec, Poland. As a youth association, we act on the local, regional and international level and its mission is to support and promote the social inclusion, youth education, democracy, civil society and active citizenship.

Our priority is to offer a unique opportunity of non formal education. We are looking for young people of 18-30 years old resident of European Union and EU neighbouring countries to join our 3 activities.

Projects are dedicated for youth between 18 and 30 years old and resident of European Union and EU neighbouring countries.

The projects based on non-formal education and take place in different Polish cities
