Encompass is looking for volunteers, in Eddy and Lea Counties, to provide companionship and support to patients during their final months and weeks of life. Volunteers provide non-medical services and respite time for caregivers and family members. As a Hospice Volunteer you will be given choices as to how much and what types of things you want to do. Here are just a few specific ways Hospice Volunteers can help:
*provide companionship and socialization
*help with general office support
*run errands for patients and families
*play games, read, and listen to music with patients
*walk/care for family pets
*assist with light house cleaning
*create a photo album of patient and family
*write a journal or life story with patients, to give to family

Description
As the Volunteer coordinator, my goal is to help our hospice families in every way we can, to give them the peace they deserve, in their time of need. Volunteers can choose the areas they feel they are best suited for. You might provide companionship, help with general office support, run errands for patients and families, play games, read, and listen to music with patients, walk or care for family pets, assist with light house cleaning, create a photo album of patient and family, write a journal or life story with patients, to give to family, and so much more.
Our company has a goal of 5% of our services being done by volunteers. We are in need of volunteers in the Hobbs, Lovington, Artesia, & Carlsbad, NM area. If your heart leads you in this area, please give me a call, or email.

- As little or as much as you desire.
- Volunteers 16 to 18 years of age can volunteer in helpful ways, and can see patients with an adult present, but they must be 18 years old to see patients on their own.
