To help keep seniors socially engaged, we are searching for volunteers who are interested in hosting fun and engaging events teaching seniors a new skill one-on-one. If you are passionate about a specific skill you think a senior would be interested in learning or just want to give back to the seniors in your community, this role is perfect for you.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design an event teaching a senior a new skill around topics like arts and crafts, technology, social media, etc.
  • Host the event virtually using Google Hangouts

Requirements:

  • Have access to a webcam to host a Google Hangouts meeting
  • Have good knowledge of the skill you’d like to teach
  • Be dependable and punctual

Training and Supervision:

  • After you submit your application, you’ll attend a 45-minute volunteer orientation and training presentation done by a CareShepherd expert

Time Commitment:

  • We ask that you’ll be able to donate at least 1 hour to teach a senior a new skill
  • We will work around your schedule!
