We are making a difference

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry that seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need. Habitat has built more than 145,000 houses around the world, providing more than 625,000 people in more than 3,000 communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter. Habitat was founded in 1976 by Millard Fuller along with his wife Linda.

Seniors for Habitat for Humanity is for people who want to remain active in retirement and meet new people, but want the freedom that comes with a flexible schedule. As a Seniors for Habitat for Humanity volunteer you'll work closely with individuals and community groups. Depending on local needs and your interests, volunteer responsibilities may include home construction, education, board development, fund raising, family support, site selection, volunteer recruitment or coordination, media or community relations.
