Ten Thousand Villages Redondo Beach is seeking a committed college student for a Management Internship with a social justice-oriented, non-profit organization that will help you build valuable business and leadership skills. Ten Thousand Villages State Redondo Beach runs a retail storefront that helps artisans around the world in 30 developing countries break out of the cycle of generational poverty through strict adherence to Fairtrade principles. An ideal candidate will have an interest in issues facing developing countries and a desire to hone existing skills while working with an existing ethical- at-every-step 501(c)3. The candidate will work closely with, and be supervised by, industry professionals with extensive experience in running and managing a retail location.

From day one as an intern with Ten Thousand Villages Redondo Beach, you will learn what it takes to run a successful business and acquire highly marketable skills in management. We have a team-based environment; all our staff, except for management, are volunteers who will be by your side helping you learn, grow, and have fun.

When you join our Management Internship Program, you will soon discover that every day is different because it is filled with new, exciting, rewarding and often unexpected opportunities. For your internship, we will put you in the middle of everything, and you will work side by side with the store manager. We will give you the chance to develop the skills you need to manage a small business, take care of customers, develop marketing strategies, and build relationships with customers and coworkers. You will also have the chance to implement the skills you have learned by running an offsite kiosk. Ability to work independently and deadline orientation is necessary for the successful completion of this internship.
