Looking for a hands-on volunteer opportunity that works around your schedule? Adopt the lawn of an older neighbor in your community.
Many Faith in Action care receivers are in need of help keeping their lawns mowed. Our Honey Do Crews are looking for a few helpful folks interested in "adopting a lawn" for the season and mowing it every couple of weeks or so through the summer. If you have your own equipment or even if you don't, we can match you up with a lawn near you. This is a great opportunity for students - alone or in teams of two or three - looking for community service hours.

THE MISSION of Faith in Action of the Greater Kanawha Valley is to support the independent living of older adults and people with disabilities by lending a helping hand, neighbor to neighbor.
Description
Faith in Action of the Greater Kanawha Valley is dedicated to helping older adults (60+) in Kanawha and Putnam counties sustain their independence and remain in their own homes as long as possible. Our volunteers help our care receivers by performing small acts of service that can mean the difference between aging in place and being forced to leave their homes. These include providing free services like transportation to medical appointments or the grocery store, making friendly telephone reassurance calls, performing minor home maintenance tasks, and more.
