Public Relations Manager

AZSA is looking for a Public Relations Manager to join the Marketing and Communications Team. PR Manager creates, manages, and implements PR campaigns with the goal of enriching AZSA’s position within the public eye. Maintains strong relationships with media reps.

AZSA's Public Relations

AZSA is in its beginning stages of its Public Relations. We are building our media relationships and creating press releases on occasion. The goal is to develop and shape AZSA’s public reputation through PR.

Responsibilities

Include some or all of the following:

• Writing press releases and other media communications to promote AZSA
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with volunteers, community, staff, and public interest groups
• Updating and maintaining Web content for PR page
• Responds to requests for information from the media
• Copyedit, proofread, and revise communications
• Facilitate online conversations with AZSA members and respond to queries
• Design and launch email marketing campaigns
• Research media coverage and industry trends
• Develop fresh story ideas
• Serve as a first contact person for all media queries
• Analyzing media coverage and developing responses when needed
• Work with communications and branding teams to ensure messaging is positive, consistent and adheres to AZSA best practices

Ideal Skill Set

• BS degree in Marketing, Public Relations or relevant field
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to think both creatively and strategically
• Deadline-oriented, inquisitive, with great follow-up and reporting skills
• Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video)
• Familiarity with online marketing strategies and marketing channels
• Ability to grasp future trends in digital technologies and act proactively
• Responds well under pressure with a strict time limit.
• Able to work independently or in a team

Time commitment: Approximately 5-10 Hours Per Week
