Good Shepherd Hospice Independence
Kindness, Compassion, Service! We are in need of volunteers to help with a variety of projects in our office. No experience is required, but if you have special skills or interests we welcome the opportunity to talk about how we can best utilize your time and service. Our office volunteers play a valuable "behind the scenes" role in support of our nurses, aides, chaplains, and social workers who care for our hospice patients and families.
We need help with preparing mailings, information packets, training materials, our We Honor Veterans materials, organizing supplies, and many other things.
You choose the time and amount of hours that work best for you! We provide training, ongoing support, and lots of compliments and gestures of appreciation.
Submit a volunteer application on our website www.goodshepherdhospice.com and we'll get right back to you. Call or email Laura Bate at 816-822-2292 or laura.bate@goodshepherdhospice.com for more information.
Our office follows CDC guidelines for COVID-19

Serving people with compassion and dignity.
COMPASSIONATE ABOUT CARE. passionate about life.
At Good Shepherd Hospice, we believe that health care is more than just a diagnosis and a treatment. It's a daily exercise in making this moment...this today...the very best it can be. We're here to help our patients achieve that goal - physically, mentally, spiritually...and for whatever that means individually.
We believe that in the passing of a person’s life, there are also extraordinary opportunities for compassion, reconciliation, spiritual healing, and renewal.
Our Volunteers play a vital role in our Hospice program. From working in the office, to creating special projects at home, to visiting to provide companionship and ease lonliness, Good Shepherd Hospice Volunteers make special moments happen again and again for the patients and families we serve.
