Compeer at the Mental Health Association of South Central Kansas
Compeer is a national mentoring program sponsored by the Mental health Association of South Central Kansas that focuses on youth who are at-risk for or who are dealing with mental health issues. MHA has multiple opportunities available to serve as a mentor. Our community friendship match is between a volunteer and youth who is receiving mental health services. Volunteers spend an hour a week with a child providing friendship and socialization while doing fun activities in the community. Be a model that changes lives!

The Compeer program at the Mental Health Association of South Central Kansas utilizes the power of volunteer mentors to improve the lives of Wichita area children and adults who are striving for mental wellness.
Compeer volunteers have an impact on the lives of those they mentor by providing caring, supportive relationships, being positive role models, and helping their mentee gain confidence and a feeling of connection to their community. Individuals referred to Compeer are often lonely or isolated and struggle with peer-to-peer relationships, social skills, academics, feeling accepted, or trusting others. Compeer offers mentorship opportunities that are community-based one-to-one friendships and school-based friendships with children ages 6 to 17, community-based one-to-one friendships with adults, and veteran-to-veteran relationships. Will you join us in making a difference in the lives of those whose lives have been impacted by mental illness? Volunteer with Compeer today; give only one hour per week to make a friend and change a life!
We'll work with your schedule.
