We are in need of Donation Center volunteers to assist in making houses homes! The Donation Center is our sorting hub of all donations that come to Partners in Housing, and this is where we make the decision whether to put items out for families to shop or to pass them along to other organizations that are in need.
Partner families are families that are currently enrolled in the Partners in Housing program, and often times are single homeless mothers escaping domestic violence situations. When Partner Families are shopping in our Donation Center, they often only have a few items on hand. When you volunteer in the Donation Center, you are giving mothers in the Colorado Springs community a chance to rebuild their home and work towards stability, self-reliance, and prosperity.
Donation Center Volunteer Hours:
High Priority > Mondays between 9:00am and 4:30pm Shifts Available: 9:00am-12:00pm, 12:00pm-2:00pm, 2:00pm-4:30pm
Tuesday-Sunday, 9:00am and 4:30pm Shifts Available: 9:00am-11:30am, 11:30am-2:00pm, 2:00pm-4:30pm
Monday morning shifts will overlap with our Donation Drop-Off hours (9:00am to noon) and volunteers in this role will roll in the donations that donors have placed in our "contact-less" black bins directly outside the Donation Center and unload them in our back area. This will require bending, twisting, and the ability to lift bags and boxes of donations out of a bin. Volunteers can sort during downtime, but the focus will be on bringing in donations. All other shifts will focus on sorting donations and offering a helping hand to Partner families shopping. Families will sign up by appointment only and there is a limit of one family shopping at a time. Come join us and make a difference in our client's lives and work with an awesome team!
