Mission Statement
"Reading to New Heights creates a safe place for adults with the desire to learn and improve their literacy skills, ensuring the opportunity to maximize their potential in society and a better quality of life without limitations." We will do this by providing adults with sustainable programs who are struggling with reading by connecting them with educators and literacy advocates who are passionate about helping to change lives through literacy support while showing dignity and respect to all adult learners. Here...it’s NEVER too late.
Description
Reading to New Heights is a non-profit organization that was established March of 2020.
It is estimated that by 2030, Dallas county will have one million illiterate adults.
Our goal is to help stop adult illiteracy not just in the Dallas area but throughout the United States.
We have tutors that provide one-on-one lessons remotely via zoom using the Barton Reading and Spelling System.
Achievements: The fact that we have been able to provide adults with free literacy tutoring to better their lives by giving them an essential tool needed for basic quality of life. Seeing their confidences and willingness to stick with the program.
