Sociologist Volunteer -Job Description - Haiti Now

Haiti-Now is dedicated to empowering Haitian girls living in domestic servitude to overcome poverty and exploitation to achieve economic security.

Job overview:
we are in need of sociologist volunteer with experience and understanding of quantitative interviews.
Sociologists Volunteer who can study society and social behavior by examining the groups, cultures, organizations, social institutions, and processes that develop when people interact and work together.

Responsibilities:
Design research projects to test theories about social issues
Collect data through surveys, observations, interviews, quantitative interviews, and other sources
Analyze and draw conclusions from data
Prepare reports, articles, or presentations detailing their research findings
Develop approaches to the solution of groups' problems, based on research findings in sociology and related disciplines.
communicating with the data team to convey information effectively.
The use of computer applications including google sheets, databases, Trello, Slack, and google docs.
Minimum volunteer hours expected: 7 hrs per week.

Preferable Experience:

Knowledge in quantitative and survey research methodologies (e.g., bias correction for surveys, survey sampling and design, significance testing, regression modeling, experimental design, causal inference with a survey outcome, shrinkage and regularization, designing and analyzing longitudinal panel surveys, behavioral data analysis)
Experience building analytical models and working with large data sets
Experience in data manipulation and analysis with experience answering social questions
Time management and communication experience
Experience communicating analysis and results to any audience

Qualifications/Requirements:
1 year of proven experience as sociologist or Research sociologist
Bachelor/Master of Arts in Sociology or Relevant field from an accredited university

After Onboarding, Your first assignment will be to start a fundraising campaign. Haiti Now will provide further guidance for you to have a quick and successful fundraiser
