Your local Red Cross is seeking friendly, "people-person" volunteers to help us interview and match incoming applicants with the volunteer roles that will perfectly suit their skills and interests.
Our Prospective Volunteer Screening Team consists of volunteers who:
- Enjoy speaking with service-minded citizens over the phone;
- Keep their fingers on the pulse of our regional programs and volunteer needs;
- Are detail-oriented and diligent about tracking their work in our online database; and
- Are committed to working as a team to proudly represent the Red Cross, one call at a time.

Once a prospective volunteer completes the online portion of their application, our Screening Team leaps into action! As a team member, you’ll reach out to applicants to schedule a phone interview during our regular shifts. Once connected, use your social skills to get to know the applicant before using your analytical and computer skills to refer them to the volunteer position that will start their Red Cross journey.
First impressions are everything. Join our Prospective Volunteer Screening Team to become the voice of the Red Cross and help every applicant feel welcome and excited about their future as a Red Crosser!
Time Commitment: ~4-hour shift per week, scheduled regularly. All duties can be performed remotely (from home) or from a Red Cross Office (if preferred and when available). More time available upon request.
