Help adults and children cope after a disaster by providing emotional care and support

Our mental health volunteers are required to have a current drivers' license, certificate in social work, psychiatric, psychological, counseling psychiatric nursing, marriage and family therapy.

Duties include:

  • Perform mental health screening/ information assessment
  • Provide emotional care and support
  • Educate workers and clients about emotional recovery and effective coping techniques
  • Make references for additional health services based on guidance from supervisor
  • Seek guidance from supervisor as necessary and appropriate
  • Maintain professional appearance and demeanor
  • Follow and implement requests and directives received from your supervisor
