Job brief

The Donor Relations Manager works closely with the Executive Director to implement VAVA’s fundraising efforts. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to maintaining donor database, assisting with fundraising appeals, communicating and presenting to the potential donors, and supporting the VAVA leadership team in all the fundraising activities. The candidate must have outstanding communication, interpersonal, presentation, and business acumen. Prior experience in a nonprofit fundraising position is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain donor database
• Process incoming donations and ensure accurate tracking mechanism
• Make services and business model presentation to the donors.
• Analyze donor giving patterns to increase donor retention.
• Assist with preparation of the annual report and other reports to donors as needed
• Coordinate logistics for fundraising events, such as local and national community events, donor solicitation events, and annual fundraisers
• Conduct research on donor prospects and other acquisition strategies to expand donor base nationally

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 1-2 years' experience in the nonprofit field, preferably in fundraising
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
• Computer literate and possess skills in wide range of applications and software.
• Analytical and comfortable working with databases
• Comfortable working independently and in a team environment
• Highly organized and acute attention to detail
• Able to multi-task and meet deadlines
