ORGANIZATION: Create Now

  • 3 people are interested

Create Now serves poverty-stricken families living in housing projects who are not taking Covid-19 seriously. Even though our nonprofit organization has given them masks, hand sanitizers and soaps, they don't use them. Families with children live in close quarters and they're not wearing these masks or social distancing. They either choose to ignore the situation, or don't know how to react. Those families who have a loved one with Covid-19 are feeling shame, so they're keeping it hidden from others.

Create Now is developing a booklet that we'll print and distribute to these families. and also email digital copies to the 100+ youth agencies in our network so therapists, social workers, case managers and others on the front-lines can share it with their clients.

We need a copywriter who has experience writing such a manual, which will include a lot of photos. The content should be easy-to-understand and stress the importance of taking safety measures. Basically, the booklet will include: (1) content that demonstrates the need and urgency to be careful, (2) What happens if people don't follow these guidelines, and (3) the simple steps they can take to prevent the disease.

There is an artist who is putting together the layout (8-1/2" x 11" folded in half), which will be in English and Spanish. Around 100-200 will be printed and distributed, while the rest will be shared digitally for our youth partner agencies to print if needed.

Please send your resume/bio to: jill@createnow.org. Thanks!

About Create Now:

Create Now is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has reached more than 49,000 of the most vulnerable kids in Southern California by empowering young people from ages 3 to 24 (TAY) through arts education and mentoring. Our workshops in music, visual arts, writing, performance, digital media, fashion and culinary arts take place at emergency shelters, foster group homes, rehab centers, detention facilities, mental health agencies, and preschools, Title 1, continuation and charter schools throughout the Greater Los Angeles area. Every year, Create Now brings thousands of children to concerts, plays, museums and other Cultural Journeys at premier venues. We also produce community events, like Power of the Arts Festivals and mural projects.
