Seaside Seabird Sanctuary is currently seeking volunteers to assist with various administrative and "behind the scenes" tasks that support the daily operations of the sanctuary facilities and grounds.

Duites may include assisting in sanctuary gift shop, running various errands (such as picking up supplies), data entry and organization, answering phones, filing, mailings, and other office and administrative support tasks as needed.

Gift shop volunteers will perform regular retail shop duties, such as using a point of sale device to checkout customers, assist customers with finding desired item, and answering incoming calls to the gift shop.

Requirements to become a Seaside Seabird Sanctuary Gift Shop Volunteer are as follows:
* Must be at least 18-years old.
* Possess a valid driver’s license or state ID.
* Must be able to maintain a friendly and professional attitude.
* Must be comfortable handling transactions/money using point of sale device.

*Retail experience is a plus.

The Seaside Seabird Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of sick and injured wild birds, public education, conservation, and research. The Sanctuary's 1.5-acre property houses a full service avian hospital, outdoor rehabilitation areas, and over 100 permanently injured resident birds on display - ranging from songbirds to seabirds to raptors.

To rescue, treat, and rehabilitate sick and injured wild birds with the goal of releasing them back into their native habitat in the wild. To educate the general public about Florida's native wild bird population, and how to prevent and reduce man-made dangers wild birds face everyday.

Description

Seaside Seabird Sanctuary, LLC was founded on July 13th, 2016 as a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing, treating, and rehabilitating sick and injured wild birds. On September 1st, 2016, Seaside opened up their 1.5 acre full-service avian hospital and sanctuary located in Indian Shores, Florida. Seaside was granted its 501(c)(3) non-profit status three months later on December 15th, 2016. On March 30th, 2017, the Seaside Seabird Sanctuary held its official grand opening.
