Become a Girls on the Run coach today! We welcome enthusiastic, dedicated, and positive volunteers who are committed to empowering girls with valuable life lessons.
Through safety and physical distancing modifications and creating trauma-sensitive spaces, our team is ready to bring critical social-emotional programming to our girls, at a time when they need it the most.
Coaches do not need to be runners. You just need to be passionate about empowering girls! Our girls need you more than ever!
Timeline
We hold a spring and fall season each year. The Spring 2022 season starts the week of March 28th and ends May 22. At each program site, 3-6 coaches work together to deliver GOTR curriculum to girls in 3rd - 5th/6th grade. Teams meet after school twice each week for eight weeks with each practice being 90 minutes long. While our season is typically 10 weeks, we will be switching to an eight-week season for Spring 2022.

Mission Statement
We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
Description
We are a ten week after school program for girls in grades 3-8. The girls meet at their school with volunteer coaches to go through a curriculum that teaches them important life skills such as how to be a good friend, how to stand up to gossip and bullying, positive self talk, and even complete a community impact project all while using physical activity and movement to train for a 5k. At the end of the ten-weeks we have a celebratory final 5k where the girls at all of the sites come together and gain confidence through accomplishment! Our goal is to really develop the whole girl mentally, physically, emotionally, and socially.
