Food distribution is a hands-on volunteer activity. Activities could include assisting with set up, unloading and moving food boxes from pallets; loading boxes into clients' cars; and site clean-up. This volunteer activity does require some heavy lifting (15-30 lbs.) and regular movement. Volunteers must be willing and able to work with people of different backgrounds and nationalities, exhibit compassion and sensitivity, maintain strict confidentiality of all member and volunteer information, as well as to follow all guidelines and instructions provided by the site leader, including safety guidelines. Please note: If you choose to volunteer at this location, the partner will likely have their own volunteer agreement and your volunteer relationship will be with this organization, not Second Harvest.

Lead our community to ensure that anyone who needs a healthy meal can get one.
Second Harvest of Silicon Valley is a private non-profit organization that collects and distributes more than 12 million pounds of food each month. We currently serve an average of over 500,000 individuals each month; 60% are low income families and 20% are seniors. By building collaborative networks, we efficiently distribute food by leveraging donations of money, food and human resources. But we cannot do it alone. We rely upon the energy and commitment of the local community to fight hunger. See more about our efforts https://www.shfb.org/health-and-safety/
We'll work with your schedule.
