Help support Chastain Horse Park's mission to empower riders of all abilities! Therapeutic riding helps individuals as young as four years old who have a disability or diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, brain injury, or ADHD to name just a few. Therapeutic riding helps participants develop their horsemanship skills while also gaining independence and daily living skills.
As the check-in attendant, you will greet each visitor, ask about their recent health and travel, and administer a contact-less temperature check. Everyone is required to wear a mask. You can bring a book or something to occupy the time between visitors. You will sit outside in a shaded area.
Chastain Horse Park is a premier equestrian facility dedicated to serving riders of all skill levels from beginner, intermediate, to advanced, as well as riders with cognitive, physical or mental disabilities through our Therapeutic Program and inner city and at-risk children with our Community Outreach program. We develop and strengthen skills in the areas of awareness, focus, leadership, team playing, confidence, coordination, courage, friendships and fun along with superb hunter equitation skills and abilities.
Our volunteer’s are a vibrant group of individuals that are committed to helping to provide therapeutic riding services to children and adults with special needs in Therapeutic Riding, Hippotherapy, as well as Community Outreach groups.
Our therapeutic program is part of each rider’s treatment program to achieve functional goals. Our volunteers work with our PATH, Intl. certified instructors and licensed therapists, helping our riders reach their individual goals, as well as caring for our horses, who allow us all to learn and grow.
Our volunteers are a critical part in meeting the goals and needs of our riders and horses, and we could not do it without them! We always need and welcome new volunteers. To volunteer, you must first attend a volunteer orientation. Experience is not necessary; we will provide all necessary training.
Our volunteers love the time with the horses and their riders. Many volunteers work with the same riders and horses every week. The relationships they form makes a huge difference in the riders' and horses' lives, as well as their own.
