Become a Volunteer for the ACT-W National Conference!
ACT-W conferences run on the energy of our volunteers who care about empowering women in technology. The ACT-W National Conference is an action-packed event where talented people can build skills, grow their community, and accelerate their career path by connecting with companies that truly fit them best. The conference includes speaking sessions, hands-on workshops, one-on-one coaching sessions, and more.
As a volunteer, you’ll be a vital part of the conference and help to create a welcoming and outstanding conference experience for about 800 attendees. The volunteering experience is a unique opportunity to engage in conference activities. ACT-W National Planning Volunteers will be responsible for ensuring successful execution of the conference through activities including aiding attendees in platform use, monitoring chat boxes, ensuring sessions are functioning as planned, with the potential of interviewing speakers in Q&A sessions.FAQ:
- What is expected of me?
- Attend a 1 hour virtual volunteer training surrounding platform use (a recorded session will be available for those who cannot make it live)
- Be available to commit to at least one 3-hour volunteer shift during the conference
- Volunteer shifts will be August 26-28, 8:30am-11:30am PDT and 11am-2pm PDT
- Who can volunteer?
- Anyone 18 and over
- What benefits will I get?
- Free conference ticket after 6 hours of volunteer commitment
- If two shifts are done in one day (8:30 am-2 pm PDT) that will be rounded up to 6 hours of volunteering and qualify for a free ticket as well
- Experience in using the virtual event platform Attendify

ChickTech is dedicated to retaining women and non-binary people in the technology workforce and increasing the number of people of marginalized genders pursuing technology-based careers.
Description
ChickTech is a multi-generational community helping each other become technology creators. We facilitate hands-on technology-centric events and mentorship to empower, support, and increase the confidence of girls, women, and non-binary folks. Through our programs, we build community, empower participants to see themselves as leaders, and provide networking and mentoring opportunities in the rapidly growing tech industry.
As a mostly volunteer-run non-profit, we are always searching for partners who would like to get involved through donations of expertise, volunteer time, in-kind, funding, or just by helping to get the word out.
