Whether it be a wildfire, home fire, or other disaster, the American Red Cross is there to help our community, 365 days a year. The American Red Cross is seeking experienced photographers to capture critical mission moments when these disasters strike.
Volunteer photographers will be called upon when a disaster strikes, which is highly likely during wildfire season (June - November). If available, photographers will bring their own equipment and capture the work of the Red Cross in the community. Please note COVID-19 safety precautions will be taken by everyone involved in the disaster response, including social distancing and wearing of personal protective equipment.
While training specific to the American Red Cross will be provided, photographers must have experience, including a portfolio or previous work to show. Volunteers will be able to take several online, self-paced classes (free of charge) beforehand as part of the training. The time commitment is highly flexible and no minimum is required.
