Join our team of 25-30 volunteers to fill grocery bags with fresh produce and nutritious food for local residents in need, then deliver to 5-7 addresses with a single Zip Code or area. The more people we have to help, the faster and easier it goes!
Each week, the Homebound Team serves a total of 180+ households comprised of 500+ seniors, immune-compromised people, and financially distressed families throughout the greater Long Beach area, without the means to shop for themselves during the Covid-19 pandemic. We are literally keeping people from starvation.
Physical distancing procedures observed; bring your own mask and wear sturdy shoes. A brief orientation, gloves and sanitation stations provided.
This opportunity is ongoing every Sunday evening.

Mission Statement
Long Beach Community Table (LBCT) fosters sustainable community to support the well-being, empowerment, and self-determination of food- and housing-insecure residents in the greater Long Beach area with dignity and compassion.
Description
LBCT is the hub of a collaborative, mutual-aid society where everyone involved gives, receives, and takes care of each other to first meet basic needs, then to create greater self-sufficiency for individuals, families, and communities to reduce reliance on the current societal structure. During the pandemic, our primary focus has been on nourishing those who are financially distressed and/or immune-compromised with healthy food . We also provide basic necessities, educational programs, and other resources to low-income families and unhoused residents via several programs.
Food Distribution - We bring fresh produce, nutritious food, toiletries and clothing directly to low-income areas of Long Beach on weekends and make food available during open community hours at our facility 4x weekly for people in need.
Homebound Delivery - Sunday evenings, we pack and deliver supplemental groceries to 250+ households, including seniors, immune-compromised individuals, and others who cannot shop for themselves at this time.
Gardens - Building a network of urban community gardens to increase food access.
