Ways You Can Help During times of Uncertainty

ORGANIZATION: AMERICAN RED CROSS

Due to concerns about COVID-19 outbreak, we need healthy, able volunteers to step forward and help us continue to be there for families who rely on us during life’s crises.

  • Volunteer at a blood drive or join our mission-critical volunteer positions to carry out other aspects of our lifesaving work. We continue to work closely with public health officials to help keep everyone safe. Search and apply for positions at www.redcross.org/volunteertoday.

  • Make an appointment to give blood or platelets at RedCrossBlood.org. As blood drives are canceled due to coronavirus concerns, this is one of the most important things you can do to ensure we don’t have another health care crisis on top of the coronavirus.
    • In many areas of the country, public officials are asking older individuals to limit public interaction as much as possible. We encourage all donors to follow the guidance of their local health officials. Please note, however, that our Red Cross blood drives have the highest standards of safety and infection control-and do not fall in the category of "mass gatherings." Depending on the severity of the outbreak in a community, some donors may choose to postpone their donation appointment to a later date.
