Calling all volunteers, Detroiters, Metro-Detroiters, Michiganders, individuals, couples, families, kayakers, park enthusiasts, environmentalists, nature lovers and lovers of Belle Isle ... Please join us on the second Friday of each month as we 'Keep Belle Isle Beautiful' and prevent plastic pollution and other littered items from polluting our park and its waterways. The cleanup will take place outdoors.

FRIDAY CLEANUP LOCATION: BELLE ISLE BEACH / BELLE ISLE BATHHOUSE

The cleanup will take place primarily on land. Individuals with who can bring their own kayaks (paddle boards etc) are encouraged to do so. Please email nowakg@belleisleconservancy.org if you have kayak or other water vessel that you can bring to the cleanup.

Bags and gloves will be provided. Come alone, bring your family or plan to meet up with friends you haven’t seen in awhile.

Our cleanup will follow all CDC recommendations that allow for us all to remain safe.

Other recommendations: Please bring your reusable water bottle and stay hydrated. Please wear closed toe shoes or boots. Due to the nature of being outdoors, consider bringing your sunblock and bug spray. Nature has been 'open’ and here for us through this pandemic and we are excited to return the favor as we kick off our 2020 'Keep Belle Isle Beautiful' season.
