We have a large group of volunteers actively advocating and writing on human rights issues around the world, and we often have access to interview people directly on the ground. Most of our volunteers are young people, and it would be great to have some retired journalists or editors available to mentor and polish their work - and if you are interested in writing yourself, of course that is more than welcome!
We are working directly with protestors in Iraq and Chile, and also writing about police violence and detention centers here in the US, advocating for the Hong Kongers and Uyghurs, and about enforced disappearances in Saudi. We maintain social media feeds in several languages.
You can see some of our work at RaisetheVoices.org, we also place some of the stronger pieces in LAProgressive.org. But we'd like help improving our quality, and maybe getting the stories out into larger outlets so more eyes get on them.
If you are interested in participating in any way, we welcome your involvement!

We created civ.works as a platform for all of us to work together to overcome the corrupting influence of money in politics. Together we can address bad policy, legislation and to hold all of our elected officials accountable. For democracy to work -our government must represent "We the People". civ.works: Together. We can.
civ.works is a privacy protected social platform built for meaningful civic action.
The concept of civ.works is to finally provide a societal machine to stand up against something created nearly 50 years ago -and begin the process of empowering citizens again. We are building a platform together -against an incredibly mature and well-funded machine. Your volunteer efforts will be helping us collectively build something powerful and important.
