Refugee Family

Catholic Charities Refugee Department has partnered with a new food bank organization called "The Store" in South Nashville. Our refugee clients are referred for free weekly groceries via the partnership including fresh produce, proteins, dry goods, and toiletries.

Many of our clients do not own cars and have limited transportation. We are looking for volunteer drivers to pick up the groceries at "The Store" and then deliver them directly to the families' homes. "The Store" offers contactless curbisde pick up and we ask for drivers to do porch drop offs. With these precautions in place, this volunteer position is perfect for those that want to help but can continue to social distance.

The pick-up windows are Thursdays and Fridays 1-5pm and Saturdays 1-3pm. Volunteers must be available in that time frame and allow time for delivery after pick up. Volunteers are usually responsible from 1-3 families and can commit a weekly slot for a minimum of 6 weeks.

If you're interested in making sure all families have access to healthy, free food please email Lizzie Goddard at egoddard@cctenn.org to receive a short application and get started!
