During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
Everyone is craving some connection and the hospice patients we serve are no exception, even as COVID-related restrictions keep us apart. f you're tired of seeing everyone on their phones all the time and think people need to TALK to EACH OTHER, I need to CHAT WITH YOU!!!
Come join us now and train virtually (yes, on your phone, tablet or computer) so that when we can get back visiting again, you can join us in celebrating with the awesome people we care for on a day to day basis.
Our fantastic hospice volunteers provide real conversations- face to face- with people who have led remarkable lives and contributed so much to our community, their home towns and society. They have STORIES to tell and I need people who LIKE TO CONNECT, know how to LISTEN and are comfortable PROVIDING PRESENCE.
This is a FLEXIBLE volunteer opportunity- You can visit ONCE A WEEK or a COUPLE TIMES A MONTH.
Feel awkward going to a private home? Visit at a nursing home or assisted living center once the restrictions lift and we can start in-person visits once again.
Dislike the feel of resident care facilities, but happy to pop by a nearby neighbor and give a weary caregiver/spouse the GIFT of an afternoon to run a few errands? This is something simple YOU CAN DO that will PROFOUNDLY BLESS the patient, caregiver....and you too!
Just 2-3 hours of YOUR TIME = AMAZING BENEFITS. For you, the people you touch and the community that you live in. By completing training and credentialing you can start visiting those who are comfortable having a visitor at their home- masks/face shields will be provided to you as well as guidance on providing current, appropriate visits- in person!
Want to know more? Call me to set up a time to CHAT about it. I'd LOVE to GET TO KNOW YOU and introduce you to us- Cornerstone Hospice & Palliative Care.
We're different... and you just might FIND GREAT FRIENDS, learn to LIVE more THOUGHTFULLY and most of all, DISCOVER just how REMARKABLE this thing called hospice volunteering can be.

Cornerstone Hospice's mission is simple: Delivering extraordinary care to every person we touch in every community we serve. Volunteer opportunites are available throughout the seven Central Florida counties we serve: Hardee, Highlands, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Polk and Sumter, and now in Cobb County, Georgia. If you live in a neighboring county, you can still volunteer. However, all of your volunteer activities will take place in one of our seven counties, typically the one closest to you. PLEASE NOTE: Even if you are interested in several different volunteer roles within our organization, you only need to click on one opportunity during this process. You will have a chance to discuss ALL of your areas of interest during your volunteer training. Thanks!
Cornerstone Hospice volunteers are a vital part of our entire organization, and play an active role in helping to provide the many special comfort and support services that distinguish Cornerstone Hospice care.
Our volunteers are special, but not out of the ordinary. They are regular people just like you. They use common sense and understanding. They do not need a medical background. They listen. They care. Volunteers help make a patient's life more fulfilling and satisfying by giving their time, understanding, and support and asking nothing in return. They also provide support to caregivers who are often with the patient 24/7 and may need a much needed break. If direct care is not for you, you can assist with administrative tasks at our office locations, and help out with events and community outreach. Any Cornerstone Hospice volunteer will tell you that they feel they receive more from their experience than they give.
PLEASE NOTE: All volunteers are required to go through a training class with additional training required for some positions. For this reason, becoming a Cornerstone Hospice volunteer is typically not appropriate for court related community service hours or other short-term requests. Ideally, our volunteers commit to at least one year with us.
We'll work with your schedule.
