Some volunteer opportunities include:

  • Leading a horse in the lesson to keep the lesson safe and moving.
  • Walking next to the rider as a "sidewalker" to support the rider.
  • Caring for our horses on the volunteer Feed Team.
  • Schooling and conditioning our horses on the Schooling Team. Volunteers must pass a walk/trot/canter riding test to ride on the schooling team.

Turning Point Ranch partners the magic of horses with tools to build productive futures for people facing physical, mental, emotional or socio-economic challenges.

Description

Turning Point believes people with disabilities can build and sustain rewarding futures that contribute to our community. Turning Point is a Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) International Premier Accredited Center. Turning Point Ranch teaches therapeutic riding lesson. In these lessons they focus on building horsemanship and life skills. The program serve around 40 clients a week. Turning Point Ranch runs on volunteer support. You are the heart of the program. Because of people like you giving your time and hearts together we are able to make a difference in the lives of our riders.

Turning Point need volunteers to support our riders as Sidewalker and Horse Leaders during lessons. As well as volunteers to help us care for the horses, care for the facility, and help in fundrasing events.

  • Orientation or Training
  • We ask Volunteers to commit one hour once a week for 12 weeks. Our lesson schedule revolves around public school schedule.
