ORGANIZATION: Lexington Pride Center

Pride Comm;unity Services Organization is always recruiting interested individuals to serve on the organization's Board of Directors. Play a part in leading the organization to meet our mission of improving lives of LGBTQ+ individuals in Central and Eastern Kentucky. Use your voice and experience to make a true impact on our organization and community.

Requirements include:

  • Attending and actively participating in board meetings every other month;
  • Serving on at least one ongoing committee meeting. Committees include Finance, Fundraising, Programs, and Board Development;
  • Actively participating in strategic planning for the organization;
  • Making a financial contribution to the donation that is of significant to your personal financial situation;
  • Representing the organization positively in the community and attending events and functions on the PCSO's behalf;
  • Assisting with fundraising;
  • Volunteering at the Lexington Pride Festival.

Mission Statement

Lexington Pride Center works to create safe, inclusive spaces where every LGBTQ+ Kentuckian is celebrated and supported. LexPrideCenter works to improve people's lives in the sexual minority and gender-expansive community of Central and Eastern Kentucky by enhancing visibility, empowering community members, and educating the public about issues impacting the said community.

Description

Our objectives are:
- Educate:
The Lexington Pride Center offers community resources, a monthly magazine, social media, and a LGBTQ+ library
- Enhance:
The Lexington Pride Center organizes, participates, and collaborates in distinct visibility activities, such as Lexington's annual Pride Festival
- Empower:
The Lexington Pride Center spear-heads vital programming such as the Gay-Straight Alliance for Youth, discussion groups, and a safe environment at the Pride Center
