Calling all Horse Lovers!!
Making Strides Therapeutic Horsemanship, Inc. is an adaptive horseback riding and horsemanship program with locations in Wallkill, NY AND Newburgh, NY. We are an inclusive program for individuals of all abilities and disabilities. Our population of riders is mainly autistic and special needs kids from our own community.
We are looking for individuals who are willing to donate their time helping us assist with riding lessons as Horse Leaders, Side Walkers and Groomers. YOU MUST COMMIT TO A MINIMUM OF 5 HOURS A MONTH.
NO Horse experience is necessary! We hold Volunteer Orientations to train you how to assist us properly.
It's a great way to meet new people, keep active and help out those in need!
Please consider helping out this wonderful program. PLEASE DO NOT SHOW UP AT THE FARM. IF INTERESTED CONTACT US.
**Must be 16 years old+ to volunteer**

- morning / 10:00 AM to 02:00 PM
- afternoon / 03:30 PM to 07:00 PM

Description
We are a Therapeutic Horsemanship Program located at Ivy Rock Farms in New Windsor, NY. Our Mission is to improve the quality of life and cultivate human potential through equine facilitated therapies and recreation. What that means for us is providing children and adults of all abilities, challenges and hardships low cost or free therapeutic horseback riding lessons and therapeutic horsemanship programs.
We see firsthand how the effects of being around horses in a safe and caring environment can change the lives of individuals with certain challenges in life. We wish to extend this opportunity to each and every person in need. We not only provide hope and happiness to our riders, but Making Strides inspires our Volunteers as well!
Our volunteers are a critical part in meeting the goals and needs of our riders.
Making Strides would not be able to operate without a dedicated group of people in the community willing to donate their time. We hope you will take the opportunity to see all we have to offer!
