The 4th of July fireworks celebration discharges thousands of pounds of litter into the sky throughout Orange County, and most of it has harmful chemicals still in it when it lands somewhere in the far off distance. What goes up, must come down, and often times it ends up in our ocean, affecting the health of people and endangering marine life.
This 5th of July, we challenge you to gather up a group of your family and friends to take part in our Virtual It Takes A Village July 5th Cleanup. Together we can make this Independence Day celebration trash-free!
Have a happy and safe 4th of July, and we cant wait to see your posts on social media! @drainstoocean Community Hours available with proof of cleanup! Email info@drainstoocean.org for more info. (take lots of photos and post on social media and tag @drainstoocean #drainstoocean to receive community hours on July 5th.)
2hrs maximum for Community Hours. You can cleanup from 7am till 6pm.
Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult or guardian.
