The American Red Cross of Marin County is seeking Logistics members to help prepare for and respond to disasters in our community.
The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. Whether it's a local home fire down the road, or a larger disaster such as a wildfire, the American Red Cross is there. We provide emergency assistance to individuals and families who have experienced tremendous loss.
Logistics members are needed to ensure there are enough supplies ready before a disaster strikes, and that the Red Cross is able to deliver these items to disaster clients.
Please note the responsibilities below, and that no experience is required as training is provided:
- Inventory disaster supplies (i.e. cots, blankets)
- Work with the Red Cross Warehouse to ensure supplies are procured
- Move and store products, including loading them onto vehicles
- Transport supplies to Red Cross shelters, using a Red Cross vehicle
This opportunity is extremely flexible. Whether you're interested in helping several days per week, or only when a large disaster strikes, please join us.
Start your volunteer experience today at www.redcross.org/volunteer.
