Volunteers work in conjunction with other members of the hospice team. They are under the supervision of the Volunteer Coordinator who provides support and resources to equip the volunteer. The volunteer’s most important role is that of a loving, supportive presence. Volunteers become an essential part of the patients/families’ emotional, social, and physical well-being during the last stages of life.
Patient Care Volunteers may provide:

* Meal preparation
* Light housekeeping
Patient Care Volunteers MAY NOT PROVIDE:
* Transport any patient/family member
* Hands on patient care (transferring patient or assisting with bathroom responsibilities)
* Feed or administer fluids to the patient
