ORGANIZATION: BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF GREATER LOWELL

The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell is looking for 5 volunteers to assist with a landscaping project on Wednesday, July 1st and Thursday, July 2nd from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Specific tasks include: pulling weeds, trimming bushes, garbage pick up, laying mulch, and general outdoor beautification.

This project will help the Club and its staff to prepare to reopen our doors to our youth members next week!

Please email the Club's Volunteer Coordinator, Tara Levine at tara.levine@lbgc.org if you would like to assist in this project and with any questions.

Note: Due to concerns surrounding COVID-19, volunteers will be asked to wear a face mask for the duration of this this project. Additionally, they will only be able to enter the building to use the restroom.

With more than 100 years of history, the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell has been serving generations of the community’s youth as a safe place to learn and grow. We currently have over 300 club members, and we strive to help them develop into valued, impactful citizens within their community.

Currently, 21.5% of the Lowell population is in poverty, making Lowell the 16th most impoverished city in Massachusetts. In the 2015-2016 academic year, almost 20% of Lowell High School students did not graduate within 4 years.

The purpose of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell is to provide the youth of Lowell with a safe space to challenge themselves academically, engage with their peers, adopt healthy habits, and become valued members of society.
