Ten Thousand Villages Redondo Beach operates a Fair Trade retail gift store that sells products made by artisans around the world. By providing a market for these artisan products we are helping families and communities in developing countries grow and thrive. We are in need of a volunteer board member with Accounting and Finance professional experience.
Ten Thousand Villages seeks an individual who will lead all financial aspects of the non-profit business as Board Treasurer and chair of the board Finance committee. This position requires expertise in developing and monitoring an annual budget, reviewing and interpreting financial information, providing monthly reports, and guiding the board and staff in all financial matters. Additional specific responsibilities include:
- Knowledge of QuickBooks, handle payroll (2 employees) and pay invoices
- Develop annual budget with store manager and monitor monthly
- Lead monthly Finance committee meeting
- Attend monthly Executive committee and Board meetings
- Work with CPA and Bookkeeper to fila annual tax return (Form 990)
- Issue Form W2, W3, and 1099
- Estimated monthly time requirement is 12 hours including meetings
