Yolo Food Bank: Dry Product Packing (YFB Warehouse)

Yolo Food Bank

Dry Product Packing Assistants are responsible for re-packing rice and beans from large (20-25 pound) bags into smaller 1-2 pound bags for distribution to our partner programs as well as through direct distribution programs to food insecure residents. Working at a clean and sanitary workstation, Dry Product Packing Assistants will occasionally lift materials, use simple measuring tools, and work alone or in a small group.

Qualifications:

  • Bring Your Own Mask/Face Covering
  • Ages: 16-17 must receive parental permission
  • Ages: 12-15 must be accompanied by an adult
  • Able to stand, bend, reach, intermittently*
  • Able to lift 1-5 pounds routinely and 5-40 pounds occasionally often with another person
  • Responsible and Organized
  • Wear closed toed shoes

We strive to fulfill our vision by providing nutritional food to the people of Yolo County. Yolo Food Bank provides food to our community by establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with dozens of non-profit programs, private and public sector agencies, and service organizations throughout Yolo County, and by fostering mutually beneficial arrangements with commercial retail and wholesale food donors.

Description

Since 1970, Yolo Food Bank's mission has been to alleviate hunger and malnutrition throughout Yolo County. As the largest hunger-relief organization in the County, the Food Bank serves more than 52,000 low-income Yolo County residents each month through a variety of direct distributions and through services provided by a network of 70 partner agencies. Annually, we distribute upwards of four million pounds of food, more than one-quarter (27.3%) of which is fresh produce. Please visit www.yolofoodbank.org for more details.

With a staff of 20+ and more than 460 volunteers, the Food Bank provides food to Yolo County residents throughout Yolo County, which includes three urban areas (Davis, West Sacramento and Woodland) and all of the rural and unincorporated locales that cover the majority of the county. Our direct distribution programs include:

-EFAP (Emergency Food Assistance Program)
