Barn Sale time is coming!
And, we need your help to make this event as successful as possible. This is one of the only fundraisers where you don’t have to ask a single person for money! This event raised over $40,000 for the shelter last year and takes a village to reach its potential.
Even if you cannot help for the entire day, your help is still greatly needed! Whether you can do a few hours, half days or full days, it will all be incredibly valuable. Again, this event takes people to be successful, so every volunteer creates additional funds for the animals.
There is no such thing as enough help during this event so a group or company who is looking for a group volunteering project, this would be a great opportunity!
If you have questions or would like to volunteer, reach out to Megan at 317-946-8235 or volunteer@bchumane.org.
Pre-Pricing at off-site storage (located about 10 minutes from the shelter East of Nashville).
Duties: Main duty is pricing donated items. If pricing isn’t your cup of tea, there is also a need for cleaning items, sorting and organizing to prep for the sale. The more organizing that can be done beforehand, the better.
Saturday, July 11 th - 10am to 4pm
Sunday, July 19 th - 8am to 4pm
Sunday, July 26 th - 8am to 4pm
Site Prep
Duties: This will be moving things from the barn to the sale location and setting up to prep the location. This will include heavy lifting, so we could use some muscles for these two days! If pricing is still needed, some volunteers will also be at off site location completing this.

Pre-Sale Prep

Mission Statement
The mission of the Brown County Humane Society is to be a community resource dedicated to promoting the welfare of all animals in our county. We provide temporary shelter to pets in need and promote adoption of homeless pets into loving, permanent homes. We advocate respect for animals through public education concerning responsible pet ownership. We support and promote spaying and neutering to ultimately eliminate pet overpopulation in our community.
Description
The Brown County Humane Society is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing for the health and well-being of the animals of Brown County. We offer a number of services to promote animal health and education about their care.
BCHS operates an open-admission shelter for cats and dogs from Brown County. We are very proud to have an outstanding annual save rate of 95% or more since 2010. No animals in our care are euthanized unless they are deemed too dangerous to be in the community or are too ill and suffering from an illness that can't be treated. All adoptable animals stay with us until a home can be found.
BCHS also provides community programs such as low-cost spay/neuter services, annual rabies clinics, temporary pet food assistance for families in need, shelters for outdoor pets, trap-neuter-return for feral cat colonies, and educational programs.
