Dog rescue/transport network needs more drivers with their own vans or large SUVs.
We transport on Saturdays. Seeking to get multiple van or large SUV drivers to join our team so we have enough people for rotation.
We start in Hagerstown MD and go to Mechanicsburg PA. Drive time is typically around or slightly longer than one hour. We start around 12:30 pm on Saturday. If you are willing to drive longer distances, we also need help from Mechanicsburg PA to Hamburg PA. The routes we use are I-81 and I-78 in PA. Gas money may be available. Please don't let that deter you from offering to drive.
You need to:
- have a clean driving record
- have a cargo van or van where seats fold into the floor or a large SUV
- have dog crates of varying sizes to fill up your van (we may be able to scrounge some up if you can commit to driving for us regularly)
- have a passion for dogs and saving their lives
- be reliably on time
- be somewhat flexible with timing in the event we have any traffic or weather delays. Typically this doesn't happen and we run within 20 minutes of our scheduled time for most transports, but it does occasionally happen.
We will provide:
- a document that explains how everything works
- experienced volunteers to assist you as needed while you get started with us
- a transport coordinator you can reach out to with any questions
- online email group for drivers to keep in touch with our transport team
- online spreadsheet for each transport so you can select your passengers
- emailed run sheet with complete information for each transport that you then print and take with you on the road
- online photos of each passenger for visual verification you have the correct dogs

Mission Statement
The mission of A Reason To Believe Animal Rescue is to rescue homeless or neglected animals (including but not necessarily limited to dogs and cats), provide veterinary care, and get them placed them in great adoptive homes. All are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We house these animals in foster homes, kennels, or boarding as needed. We work in collaboration with shelters, veterinarians, rescues, owners needing to rehome their pets, and the public. We work to reduce the animal overpopulation issue by spaying and neutering as part of our process. We work to ensure the safety of the public by vaccinating according to the law and as the health of the animal permits based on the recommendations of our veterinarian. We treat for parasites, injuries, dentals, skin or ear infections. etc.

ARTBAR is a foster-based pet rescue located in rural southwestern West Virginia. We mostly rescue dogs but occasionally help other domestic pets. We are located near the star in our logo.
