Non-profit Food Drive Organization Pick Up Assistant

City of West Palm Beach has partnered with the Living Hungry and the USDA to provide a Food Distribution Pick Up of pre-package boxed items for partnering Non-Profit Organizations. This is NOT a resident food distribution drive-through, only pre-approved partnering organizations will be picking up boxes.

Duties may include but not limited to: Sorting and organizing donations; Lifting and placing boxes into vehicles; Assisting with traffic flow; Event Set up and Clean Up; Breaking down boxes; Walking/standing for periods of time; Working outdoors Interacting with the non-profits, volunteers and staff. Volunteers are expected to follow all safety guidelines:
  • Volunteers must report to Check In upon Arrival

    • All volunteers must sign the Volunteer Waiver at Check-In

    • Volunteers may be asked a series of health checklist screening questions and subject to temperature checks upon arrival

      • Volunteers who have have signs of illness or with a fever of 100*F or over will not be permitted to participate

  • Wash hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer before and after task

  • Practice "Social Distancing" by maintaining 6 feet of distance between yourself and others

  • Wear appropriate PPE at ALL times

  • Avoid touching face, eyes, nose, and mouth

  • Cover cough/sneeze with elbow or tissue and wash hands after

  • Avoid common greetings (such as handshakes) and limit physical contact with individuals
