Do you love sports or fitness? Do you enjoy encouraging youth by sharing your love of sports and fitness? Become a Sports Buddies Mentor!
Sports Buddies is a mentoring program specifically for adult mentors and youth who have a shared interest in sports, fitness, or just being active. Sports of all kinds have the power to unite and connect us, which is the perfect opportunity to support and encourage the youth of our community while also engaging in a healthy activity!
As a Sports Buddies mentor, you'll meet with your "Little" twice a month for a fun, encouraging activity that reflects your shared interests. Periodically throughout the year, you and your Little will be invited to attend an outing organized by Big Brothers Big Sisters in which you and your Little will join other Sports Buddies participants to watch or participate in a sporting event. Please note: during the COVID-19 pandemic, group outings to sporting events may not be possible, and virtual meetings may substitute for in-person meetings.
You don't have to be an athlete to be a Sports Buddy! College students, adults, and retirees are welcome to apply. We have a particular need for male mentors.
