Ascend Hospice

  • 2 people are interested

Ascend Hospice of Pennsylvania is seeking compassionate individuals to join our AscEnd of Life Doula volunteer program. Our AscEnd of Life Doula program equips volunteers eager and willing to accompany the dying and their families through an intensive, practically-based model of care, preparing doulas to provide emotional and spiritual support and guidance in the final days of life. End of Life Doula certificates are awarded once classroom training and required service of 100 hours is completed. The training will be located in Lansdale, PA, but we have patients who reside all across Montgomery, Bucks, Delaware, Chester, Lehigh, Northampton, Monroe, and Carbon Counties for you to visit.

The program is perfect for anyone (professionals, students, individuals who have retired, and all members of the community alike!) of an altruistic and empathic nature looking to help others and learn more about end of life.

***During COVID-19 pandemic, there are many restrictions on visitors in facilities where our patients reside. Visits will restart once the restrictions are lifted. Doulas are currently helping by making phone call visits to hospice patients and their family members. Training will also be offered virtually until it is safe to hold them in person.
