VIDA (Volunteers in Defense of Animals)

We need a team of 10 transporters ready and available to help us pick up animals from the vet! Different people can choose different days they are available. We can reimburse you for gas if you would like! Our vet is just 10 minutes away from our facility - typically, drop-off takes a little longer than picking them up. We have managed to get them to expedite pickup to only about 20 or so minutes of waiting.

All animals will go and come in carriers. If you are comfortable with big dogs riding in the back seat or trunk if you have a CRV/SUV/van, let us know. We will give you blankets/towels to line your seats. Otherwise, always in carriers. All you do is hand them off to the vet and they take care of the rest.

We are looking for people who could potentially pick up and be comfortable with dropping off our animals at anytime during the day from 7 AM - 9:30 PM (sometimes they have people pickup at night if they are ready). We will give you a bit of notice for sure.

Must have a valid drivers license. Please text Kim or inquire here if you are interested! 6266768037 (Kim)

Mission Statement

Our mission is to protect and help dogs and cats from homelessness neglect, abuse, cruelty and abandonment. VIDA does not belong to any one person but instead to all of its volunteers. We adopt out about 50-60 cats and dogs per month - we rescue dogs from high-kill shelters, low income neighborhoods, and from the streets of Mexico. We also have spay and neuter operations and have saved thousands of animals already. www.vida4animals.org www.instagram.com/vidarescue www.facebook.com/vidarescue

Description

Volunteers in Defense of Animals is a non-profit organization working to end the suffering and mistreatment of dogs and cats in Southern California. We bring spay and neuter services to areas where families cannot afford them; we facilitate the rescue, foster care, and adoption of animals whenever possible, and we offer education and support to those involved in the care of animals.

We have found forever homes for hundreds of dogs and cats, with around 4-5 new adoptions taking place each week. Many of our dogs come from local high-kill shelters before they are euthanized and on the streets of both the US and Mexico. We also have spay/neuter operations in low-income neighborhoods in the US and in Mexico and have spayed/neutered thousands of pets.
