WHAT: Don't just show up - step up. Lead volunteers in packing 3,000 meals for the disabled and homebound, in partnership with the L.A. City Department of Disability and Khalsa Care Foundation.
ABOUT KHALSA CARE FOUNDATION: Keeping with the Sikh tradition, Khalsa Care Foundation is dedicated to helping all people. Before the pandemic, they served 1,000 meals/day. Demand has tripled! They greatly need your help.
THE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY YOU'D LEAD: "SERVE IT UP: Pack Meals for the Disabled and Homebound," is a brand new opportunity where 15-50 volunteers prepare and pack 3,000 meals every day.
AS THE PROJECT LEADER, YOU'D BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- confirming volunteers beforehand
- orienting/training volunteers prior to event
- managing all communication with volunteers, Khalsa Care, and L.A. Works
TIME: One day a week (M-F) from 8am - 11:30am.
LOCATION: Pacoima
PROJECT LEADER REQUIREMENTS:
- Must attend a virtual L.A. Works training
- Must commit to leading for a minimum of 3 months
