Help with Prep for Summer Programming at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell

ORGANIZATION: BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF GREATER LOWELL

The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell is looking for volunteer support as we prepare to re-open for summer programming. Some help that we are looking for includes:

  • Assisting in deep cleaning our building
  • Assisting in yard work and outside landscaping
  • Repainting our kitchen
  • Relabeling our cubbeys and helping to hang up cork boards and white boards
A few things to note here include the reality that you would have to wear masks and take safety precautions (limited group size, etc.) and we would ask that the individual(s)cover the costs for whatever project(s) they choose to complete. Unfortunately, because the Club has not been open, our budget is very tight right now and we are not able to afford to complete these projects on our own.

With more than 100 years of history, the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell has been serving generations of the community’s youth as a safe place to learn and grow. We currently have over 300 club members, and we strive to help them develop into valued, impactful citizens within their community.

Currently, 21.5% of the Lowell population is in poverty, making Lowell the 16th most impoverished city in Massachusetts. In the 2015-2016 academic year, almost 20% of Lowell High School students did not graduate within 4 years.

The purpose of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell is to provide the youth of Lowell with a safe space to challenge themselves academically, engage with their peers, adopt healthy habits, and become valued members of society.
