ORGANIZATION: New Star

NOTE: We are offering Online Orientation during this time of social distancing. Online orientation will prepare you to jump in when life returns to its new normal. We are currently looking for local volunteers that can jump into future face to face visits.

New Star serves over 650 children and adults each day whose lives are impacted by mild to profound disabilities. Our service area reaches those living in and around the Chicagoland area and Northwest Indiana. New Star has openings for people who are passionate about helping those we serve to create meaningful days, productive years, and, ultimately, more fulfilling lives.

Share the love this February! Become a New Star volunteer and help challenge limits and change lives by being you. Your skills, experience, and personality are bound to be a perfect fit. Use this social distancing time to complete the online orientation, find your ideal fit, and bring some joy to the people we serve.

Here are just a few ways you can make a difference:
Card writing
Zoom game events
Help build job skills (i.e., interview practice)
Online social visits that will transition to in-person
Administrative help
Gardening
Teach a class
Storytelling
Help build a community garden

We also have a Jr. Ambassedor program for Teens 8th-12grade
