This volunteer opportunity is for someone strong, with their own reliable transportation and a flexible schedule. While we try to give as much notice as possible, last minute changes are often out of our control and part of this process. Our donations coordinator picks up furniture/household donations all over the metro and needs assistance getting those items into our box truck and/or moving those items into apartments or storage areas on our campus at 28th/Troost in midtown KCMO.

- FOR DONATION PICKUPS: Our Donation Coordinator would text you with the date/time/location and if you're able to help, you'd text back and meet her there driving your own vehicle. PLEASE WEAR A MASK AND GLOVES (COVID precautions as we're still in a pandemic) . You will help move the items out of the donors house/garage and into the box truck and that's it! You can go on your way after that or you can follow our truck to campus and help with the unload if you're willing/able. Our campus is located at 28th/Troost in Midtown KCMO. Donation locations could be anywhere in the metro but frequently tend to be in the southern parts of Jackson County (MO) and Johnson County (KS).

- FOR MOVING ON CAMPUS: We provide fully furnished apartments to families moving into our program. Furniture donations get stored until an empty apartment needs to be set up. Our Donations Coordinator would text you with a date/time to meet her on our campus (at 28th/Troost) to help move furniture from storage into an apartment. Apartments are 1-3 bedrooms and the big items typically requiring help include couches, beds, dining tables, & dressers. All our apartment buildings are 3 stories tall without elevators, so you would have to be able to maneuver stairs.
