Founded in 1989, the Goleta Education Foundation (GEF) supports programs that prioritize creation of the best educational experience for all students in the Goleta Union School District (GUSD), with the dual goal of creating opportunity for all students across all programs.

The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors, participates at all Board Meetings as a non-voting Member, and also participates in committee meetings in the ordinary course. The Executive Director has overall strategic and operational responsibility for the execution of GEF’s mission including fundraising, programs, partnerships, events and volunteers with specific emphasis on the following:

• Provide organizational leadership by guiding the Board through short and long-term organizational planning and strategy.

• Exercise oversight of the funds which have been entrusted to GEF in support of its mission.

• Formulate and implement the fundraising strategy, work with grant writers and the Board to support annual and long-range development goals.

• Design and manage new opportunities for collaboration with GUSD and other stakeholders.

• Create avenues for community awareness of GEF and its programs

The Executive Director will be thoroughly committed to Goleta Education Foundation’s mission and will have:

• An unwavering commitment to quality programs and program evaluation;

• Passion for elementary school education and equality of access for all students;

• Fundraising experience with the ability to cultivate a variety of donor relationships;

• Clear communication and interpersonal skills;

• Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing programs, projects and initiatives;

• Integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed;

The Executive Director position is a volunteer position ideally suited for a member of the Goleta community who is passionate about elementary school education and students in the GUSD. The position pays a monthly stipend of $500. For more information, please contact: emily@goletaed.org.
