Care for Friends provides fundamental food, clothing and healthcare programs for individuals in Chicago experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Our "no questions asked" policy removes the most common barriers to assistance and allows us to connect service providers with our guests. As a community hub, the trust and relationships we create with our guests help them build pathways out of homelessness.

As you probably surmised, Care For Friends had to temporarily pause our regular Thursday group volunteer program. It's disappointing, but we know we'll get back to a new normal eventually! In the meantime, we're pivoting in a way that still provides crucial services to our guests, while also supporting struggling, local restaurants.

We are searching for Corporate partners able to make monetary donations. We use the donation to purchase and distribute 60-65 meals from a selected local vendor for one of our days of service. We are pulling at all of our resources right now to support our guests and this new arrangement has been hugely beneficial during a time of increased need and decreased people power.

We've set up a special page on our website ( www.CareForFriends.org/COVID) to process a tax-deductible donation from the volunteer group. Alternately, the group can request a restaurant of their choice, where we can order the meals.

In this way, Corporations can double the charitable impact by donating meals from local restaurants to meet the increased needs of Care For Friends.
