Aeon for Ocean (AFO), a 501 (c)(3), Our mission is to educate and increase awareness about ocean conservation and marine life amongst kids and their greater role in spreading the message to drive action. We are looking for someone to help support and expand our community engagement.
Job Description
Aeon for Ocean is seeking a Technology Leader who can support the Technology Group to improve the look, usability, functionality and SEO ranking of our website, ecommerce, blog, mobile app development, STEM educational support, etc. Duties of this position require a varying degree of independent judgment and decision making to take projects from concept to launch.
Responsibility
Create and manage a team of technology professionals and provide guidance to the team
UX, Ecommerce, Database, Blog design and maintenance
Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our site
Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities
Experience in Web Design/Development, Programming, Content and SEO.
Research, install and/or develop tools and plugins that will allow the optimization of the website and improve the customer experience while increasing online sales, making the website attractive and functional.
Manage and keep operational documents current. Assist in developing procedures & documents for the organization.
Qualifications
Fluent in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, iQuery, Linux and MySQL Understanding cross-browser, cross device optimization/functionality. Familiar with web hosting setup and Platforms; strong usability and user experience.
A solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices
Experience and implementation of modules and plugins for CMS model.
JavaScript, CSS, HTML, PHP, MySQL, CMS, CRM, and Google AdWords.
Knowledge of analysis platforms, including Google Analytics.
Ability to manage and lead projects with multiple team members.
Energetic team player with strong initiative, work ethic and ability to work independently

Aeon for Ocean is a U.S.-based nonprofit founded by 7-year-old Aeon in Minnesota, to share knowledge about marine life, the oceans and our role in protecting this planet.
Our focus is on helping inland communities understand why the ocean matters and identify things they can do to protect the ocean. Through our Krill2Whale program and other initiatives, Aeon for Ocean is teaching kids they can save the World Ocean for eons!
